St. Lawrence

Bounded by Yonge Street, Front Street, Parliament Street and the rail embankment.

A downtown neighbourhood built around one of the world's great food markets.

St. Lawrence Market, at Front and Jarvis, is the heart of the area — two buildings of butchers, bakers, cheesemongers and grocers, plus weekly farmers' and antique markets. The wedge-shaped Flatiron Building at Front and Wellington is one of the city's landmarks.

Old meat-packing plants and industrial buildings have been converted into lofts and commercial space alongside newer apartments.
